Impressions of Alison
After getting to know her better while working on Xtreme Green, I am even more impressed with her, especially with how she completely walks her talk in her own life. I can’t wait to see her and Zoe’s adventure unfold in Pakistan. I have no doubt about their theoretical abilities to climb and ski a 21,000 foot glacier, but the real-life doing it- that’s another thing entirely.
But more important than the climbing/skiing, their encounters with the Pakistani people are what really interest me. The world is pretty sharply divided along territorial and religious lines these days – it’s about time we see more stories showing how we are all ultimately connected; maybe climate change is the medium by which this becomes more apparent. So I look forward to the human stories that develop from Alison and Zoe’s trek, and look forward to having my eyes opened further to what is happening in this part of the world.
